Questions about Jewellery
General
All jewellery (besides those clearly states to be silver plated) is Recycled 925 Sterling Silver.
Sterling silver tarnishes when exposed to salty air, chlorine, sulphur, humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, household bleach and other strong chemicals. To prevent tarnish as much as possible, we recommend that you store your fine jewellery in a safe, dry place when engaging in the following activities:
Household and outdoor chores
Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the ocean
Using lotion, hair products, fragrances and other cosmetics
Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
Preparing meals
These may seem unrealistic and whilst your jewels ‘should’ be fine during these everyday activities (besides using chemicals etc) following this advice will prolong the life of your jewels!
DO:
Keep jewellery away from harsh chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Store jewellery in a jewellery box with a lid when not wearing.
Polish regularly with Silver polish (check product instructions).
Check general wear and tear regularly and contact about a Repair of necessary .
Wear your silver every day, silver that is regularly used typically needs less care.
DON’T:
Spray perfume or tanner etc directly onto jewellery.
Use abrasive cleaners on jewellery.
Store all necklaces together and risk tangling.
Wear jewellery if doing excessive heavy lifting, to avoid misshaping.
Wear rings/jewellery if weight training at the gym or playing contact sport.
